The project "SUB. TEXTE - Kampf um Freiräume" (SUB. TEXTS - Fight for free Spaces) shows a part of Potsdam's urban history that is often invisible behind the historical scenery of the city. At first Potsdam seems to be a city that stands out because of its Prussian past, which is often marketed as destination for tourists. But many people, both residents and tourists, are often unaware that the state capital also has a distinct subcultural scene.

To show how diverse Potsdam's cultural landscape is, however, we would like to make a documentary about subcultural projects 

and initiatives that emerged from the squats of the 1990s. The film shows the conditions under which the projects developed, the cultural centres and creative spaces that emerged from them, and the wishes, goals and needs that shape the scene today. The film is intended to cover a broad spectrum of opinions. Therefore, not only representatives of sub-cultural projects and initiatives will speak up, but also, for example, representatives of the city.

In order to fulfil the technical requirements of the project, we are cooperating with three students of the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) Institute Berlin. The film will premiere at a public event, which is going to be free of charge. After the project is done, the film will continue to be available online and of course free of charge.

For the financing and complete implementation of our documentation, we are dependent on donations. Therefore, we have created a crowdfunding campaign on Startnext, which has now been successfully completed. Thanks to all supporters!
